Amanda Siebold is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who is passionate about helping individuals and families gain healing in their lives and in their relationships. She attended Mount St. Mary’s University for her Bachelor’s degree in English with Secondary Education Certification and taught high school English before studying to become a therapist. Her career as a teacher provided unique insight into working with adolescents and the need for mental health support to help young people thrive in their families, in their relationships, and in their academics.
Ms. Siebold then earned her Master’s in Social Work from Catholic University. During her graduate studies, she gained training and experience in working with the effects of childhood trauma in the field of Treatment Foster Care. In this experience, she acquired formal training in the trauma-informed, attachment-based model TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) which focuses on the importance of connection to heal the effects of complex trauma. She has worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults in a community-based mental health setting to support clients with a variety of mental health and relationship issues.
Ms. Siebold uses a strengths-based perspective when working with clients, recognizing that each person comes with a unique set of abilities, supports, and resiliency. Using an attachment lens, she recognizes that connection is a fundamental aspect of human experience and is a pathway to facilitating healing. Being trauma-informed, she prioritizes patients’ felt-safety within sessions and helps them to develop healthy coping skills from a compassionate, nonjudgmental stance. She believes in providing clients with concrete tools in order to recognize unhelpful scripts they have acquired through relationships and life experiences in order to rewrite their stories to promote restoration, growth, and empowerment. Ms. Siebold focuses on a person-centered approach, acknowledging that the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in determining the success of a client’s treatment. She believes that warmth and empathy are of utmost importance for clients to feel seen and heard.
Ms. Siebold provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She also provides faith-based counseling upon request.
