Crystal Stewart is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 4 years of clinical mental health experience. A proud DC native, Ms. Stewart appreciates the unique challenges and advantages to inner city life and has over 15 years of experience working with high risk youth, adults, and communities
Ms. Stewart graduated from Loyola University of Maryland’s Pastoral Counseling program and is passionate about helping clients explore the relationship between faith and health. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and most often incorporates Person-Centered, Adlerian, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral concepts. Ms. Stewart is also trained in Multisystemic Therapy, an intensive family and community based approach that addresses the environmental influences on high risk youth. Although Ms. Stewart has extensive experience working with adolescents, she works with individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress and anger management.
No matter the age or concern, A client can expect an authentic, empathic, and effective psychotherapist. Her primary goals are to:
- To help clients understand and address the specific barriers that prevent them from accomplishing goals.
- To encourage the discovery and acceptance of innate gifts to help clients confidently show up in the world.
- To remind clients that they are worth the effort it takes to achieve healing.
