Most recently, she spent the last three years as part of the team at J.Kent McNew Family Medical Center under Luminis Health AAMC, where she has worked as a patient care technician helping clients with a broad range of mental health issues. Karla also interned at MSA The Child and Adolescent Center working with both children and adolescents conducting group and individual therapy sessions.
Through her work she seeks to maintain an environment tailored to each unique individual and create a safe space for clients to share and process things that are difficult. Karla enjoys working with clients across the lifespan employing a trauma-informed approach. She believes in meeting all clients where they are, with empathy, respect and freedom from judgement.
