Sabrina Lueth Walker is a Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Maryland and New Jersey. She obtained her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University in 2008. Her undergraduate degree, also from Rutgers, is in Exercise Science and Sports Studies. She began her career in healthcare and health promotion. Influenced by her fitness background, Mrs. Lueth Walker believes in treating the whole person by addressing issues of the heart, mind, body and soul. She treats from a strengths-based, insight-oriented, in-your-corner perspective.
Mrs. Lueth Walker has worked with individuals across the lifespan, couples, families and groups. Much of her clinical experience has centered on individuals recuperating from traumatic injuries, those learning to manage chronic medical conditions and those healing from loss. After graduate school, she worked with adults recovering from brain injuries and managing neurological illnesses. Following this, she worked at a children’s hospital specializing in children and adolescents with chronic pain conditions. Since relocating to Maryland, she has worked for a community-based behavioral health organization and, most recently, had the privilege of working Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with children and adolescents of our active and retired military men and women.
Mrs. Lueth Walker is passionate about promoting resilience and personal and spiritual growth. She is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® and finds great satisfaction in helping clients move beyond pain caused by loss of any kind. With a warm, collaborative and motivational approach, she partners with her clients to identify obstacles serving as barriers to reaching goals, managing difficult circumstances, experiencing satisfying relationships and living a fulfilling life. What may seem insurmountable at the time can become attainable as one heals from past hurts, gains knowledge and insight, and learns new skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Mrs. Lueth Walker draws from a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches and interventions including but not limited to Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brain-based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Play and Art Therapy. She has received advanced training in CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, MI, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Cognitive Remediation Techniques (to improve self-regulation).
