An initial evaluation for psychotherapy consists of a 45-60 minute structured psychosocial interview. In your first session, we will discuss your client rights and responsibilities and the extent and limitations of confidentiality. An extensive background history will be obtained in this session in order to gain a full understanding of the multiple contributing factors that have led you to beginning the therapy process. After the data gathering process, we will begin to collaborate on goals for treatment.
Subsequent therapy sessions are 45 minutes in duration and are considerably less structured and more fluid. Because we know that each patient’s problems and experiences are unique, our therapists tailor your treatment to meet your individual needs. At the Clear View Counseling Center, we pride ourselves on our integrative approach to therapy and utilize a combination of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, and Tri-Phasic Trauma Therapy. We strive to provide you with the treatment that best fits your needs. Depending on your needs and symptoms, therapeutic assignments may be suggested between sessions.
